portfolio analysis- how judges pick winning portfolios and sports photos
Part one:
1.
Name; Alyssa Schukar
General focus; stories and darkness
3 problems; distance, emotion in photos and not a good story
2 things the judges like; good graphics and background
overal impression & what I did/did not like; I liked the story but I don't think it was told very well, I also didn't like how there wasn't much emotion into the pictures
2.
Name; Travis Haughton
General focus; story and happiness
3 problems; picture of signs, too many kids and tight photos
2 things the judges like; lighting and levels
overal impression & what I did/did not like; I liked how different their photos were and how they weren't all the same and how there was more emotion into the pictures, I didn't like how busy some of the pictures were and the quality of some of them
3.
Name; Sam Adams
General focus; story and biking
3 problems; angels, back of someones head and distance
2 things the judges like; good backgrounds and the quality
overal impression & what I did/did not like; I liked the quality of all the photos and how a lot of the pictures had people moving, I didn't like the angles of some of the photos
4. Winning photo
judges strengths; angles, creativity
what strengths and weaknesses I see; strengths I saw were the focus and how some pictures were sharp and others were blurry, the creativity and how each picture told a story
process; the judges were looking at creativity and how each picture told a story, they were also looking at the focus of the pictures and how each
Part 2:
1. In the category Best student image, I agree on the judges with the picture of the sunset with the dad holding his daughter up in the air because I thought it should not of placed (and it didn't which i agree on) but the moment was nice and it wasn't a terrible picture, it just wasn't a picture that could beat the other ones.
2. In the category action, I didn't agree with them not placing the swimming picture because I thought the lighting in that photo was excellent. The picture was also creative and the color of the pool was nice and blue. The picture was also clear and it had reflection of lights so you can see that the water is moving a little and you can tell that it was water. In my opinion, that picture should've won.

Once I found out you could go in, I wanted to look at it more because I might travel to it because its interesting

7. I choose this building because of the way the building is shaped. I keep wondering how the people who built it did it so it could have an abnormal shape. The colors of that building also goes really well together, the white and green. It also got me wondering if the inside of that building is shaped weird because the outside is.

sensory overload
1. I agree with this statement because our technology is a big part of our life and society today. To be honest, I don't really understand the quote so it doesn't really make me feel any different as a photographer
2. looking through the images, I did want to go to that place with my camera because of the different colors
3. It would be hard to be the child of the work place because theres a lot of toys and you would have to not play with them.
4. My favorite photo is the one with the flowers and how it fills up the whole photo. There are the most flowers on the left side of the photo, in middle is a woman with her paintings of the flowers and a little green plants by her, and the right of the photo are more flowers. The picture is filled with color, there are no black or grey colors.
